RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Despite a season-best total and a trio of 590+ Air Rifle scores, Morehead State Rifle was unable to overcome OVC foe Murray State on the Racers' range Sunday.
The Eagles totaled a season-high 4678, bettering their score from Saturday at UT Martin by 28 points. Murray State finished at 4722.
In Air Rifle, junior
Adrianna Beard fired a season-high 594 - just two points off the school record.
Chloe Shannon fashioned a career-best 591, while fellow freshman
George Kuhne also had a season-best effort with a 590. Freshman
Haven Eastman nailed down a 588, and junior
Hayden Bell scored a season-best 585.
Also firing notable scores, but not in the counters, were freshman
Victoria Koenig (season-best 590), freshman
Trey Myers (season-high 584) and sophomore
Cooper Gray (season-high 583).
Morehead State's 2363 in Air was 19 points better than its previous season-best.
On the Smallbore range, Beard also had a season-standard as she fired a 585 to lead the Eagles. Shannon upped her season-high to a 582, six better than her previous. Bell (576), Myers (572) and Kuhne (570) rounded out the counters, who scored a 2315 - also a season best. Eastman's 573 established her season best.
The Eagles will be idle next weekend before hosting UTM for their first home matches of the year on Nov. 1 and 2.
