MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Men's Basketball is headed to Omaha, Neb. for the NCAA Tournament. The Eagles drew the No. 14 seed in the East Region and will face third-seeded Illinois in the first round on Thursday. Tip-off times will be announced soon.
The Eagles, the OVC Champions, head into the NCAA Tournament with a school-record 26 wins. This is MSU's ninth-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and second in the past four seasons (2020-21).
Illinois is the Big 10 Tournament champions and is 26-8 as well. Morehead State has only ever played Illinois time, in 1993.
