Beach Volleyball Prevails In Another Epic OVC Match With Tennessee Tech, 3-2

MOREHEAD, Ky. --
For the second consecutive day, Morehead State and Tennessee Tech battled all five counting beach volleyball matches to three sets, and Saturday it was the visiting Eagles who prevailed over the host Golden Eagles. MSU, which dropped Friday's match 3-2, won 3-2 today.

MSU moved to 6-6 overall and 2-4 in the OVC.

At the lower end of the lineup, Brenna Bommer and Lily-Kate Carver picked up a point for their team at No. 4, rallying to win 10-21, 26-24, 15-11. Tech won a three-setter at No. 5 as Amelia Nott and Landyn Snowden went to extra points with their TTU adversaries before falling 16-14 in the final set.

MSU secured the road victory with triumphs at Nos. 2 and 3. On court two, Shea Hefner and Sydney Wyman rallied to grab a 12-21, 21-19, 15-10 win. At No. 3, M.E. Hargan and Peighton Isley also dropped the first set but came back to claim a win. They prevailed 18-21, 21-18, 15-8. At No. 1, Irene Wogenstahl and Bella Marita were leading 1-0 with a 21-16 first-setter but ended up falling 21-15 and 15-13 thereafter.

In the lone match not going three sets, the Eagles' Maycie Welborn and Courtney Fitzgerald won 22-20, 21-9 in the extra pairing.

MSU returns home on Wednesday to host former OVC rival Eastern Kentucky in a double dual starting at 2 p.m. ET.
