CHARLESTON, Ill. -- The Morehead State baseball team had the opportunity to sweep EIU, but struggled offensively on Sunday, falling 5-1 in the series finale.
Sophomore Ethan Davis (0-1) started and took the loss on the mound for Morehead State (30-21, 14-10 OVC). Junior Trevor Callahan was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 5.1 innings, surrendering one run on four hits, walking one and striking out four.
In the batter's box, the Eagles were led by Colton Becker, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Eagles were trailing 5-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Freshman Hayden Robbins came across to score the lone run of the inning for Morehead State and get them on the board. The Eagles were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
