MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Rifle dropped its Saturday match to Jacksonville State as the Gamecocks topped MSU 4,695-4,657.
Jacksonville State's Frans Rasmussen set the Button Rifle Range record for Smallbore at 593 with 31 centers.
In Air Rifle, the Eagles were paced by senior
Hayden Bell with a season-high 593. Senior
Adrianna Beard fired 589, while sophomores
George Kuhne and
Chloe Shannon both finished with 584. Sophomore
Trey Myers rounded out the counters at 583.
Smallbore saw Myers lead the team and tie his season-best with a 580. He had a personal-best 193 in the standing position. Kuhne's 578 was next, followed by Bell at 577. Bell tied his prone (198) and standing (193) personal bests.
Shannon (572) and freshman
Hannah Goin (560) concluded the five-person lineup. She also shot a 581 on the Air Rifle range.
The Eagles will be off next weekend before returning to the range in Ft. Wayne, Ind., on Oct. 25 where they'll face Akron at the X-Count.
