MOREHEAD, Ky. --
The Morehead State men's golf team tied for fifth place out of 11 teams in The Scrappy at Cobblestone.

Morehead State posted team scores of 297-297-299 for a total of 893 (+41) for the 54 holes of competition over the 6,759-yard, par-71 Cobblestone Golf Course. Host team Kennesaw State took home the victory, posting a score of 285-287-291--863 (+11).

The course was a difficult one. All 11 competing teams finished at least 11 or more over par. Only one player in the tournament, Shaun Cook from Kennesaw State, shot under par.

"That was certainly the toughest test we have seen this year," said head coach Matthew Martin. "There were sprinkles of brilliance from all five guys through the battle. We will now be more prepared for the challenges of Maketewah next week."

Morehead State was led by Seamus Bogan and Gavin Augenstein, who both tied for 10th out of all competing individuals. Bogan (76-69-77--222) and Augenstein (72-77-73--222) both finished nine over par.
