MOREHEAD, Ky. --
Morehead State Rifle will line up against outside competition for the first time in 2025-26 when the Eagles open the season Saturday and Sunday at home versus Mount Aloysius (Pa.).

Both matches will see first shots around 8 a.m. ET at Button Rifle Range.

Head Coach Alan Joseph's squad will face-off with a Mount Aloysius squad coached by MSU alum Siarra "CC" Crum. The Mounties are only a second-year program, but they did claim first place at the Mid-Atlantic Conference championship in their first collegiate season in 2024-25.

"We are excited to compete for the first time this year," said Joseph. "We will look for consistent performances and see where we stand at the end of the weekend. It is always nice to see our alums doing well, especially with CC coaching at Mount Aloysius and starting their program. They will be a solid opponent to open with."

Morehead State returns seven student-athletes from last season and added freshman Hannah Goin. The Eagle starting lineup for Saturday includes five on each gun: senior Hayden Bell, Goin, sophomore George Kuhne, sophomore Trey Myers and sophomore Chloe Shannon are on Smallbore. Senior Adrianna Beard will be in place of Kuhne for the Air Rifle squad.

Beard is the Eagles' top returning shooter, averaging 1167.6 total last year and 591.4 in Air. Bell qualified for the NCAA Championships in Air Rifle last season, finishing fourth on the team in aggregate average.

Kuhne ranked second on the roster with an 1164.3 total and led the Eagles in Smallbore average at 577.3. Shannon was close behind in total scoring at 1163.0.

The other two returnees are juniors Maria Koenig and Cooper Gray.

Seven of the first eight events for MSU are at home this year. The Eagles host former OVC rival Jacksonville State for one match next weekend.
