Sydney Sennett have been named the Ohio Valley Conference's Offensive Player and Setter of the Week, respectively for their performance last week.
A senior from Elizabethtown, Ky., Hargan led Morehead State averaging 5.33 kills per set over the Eagles' nine sets played last week, notching three double-doubles. She scored 59.5 points for a 6.61 points per set average. Â Hargan began the week last Tuesday against Tennessee State with 10 kills and a then-season-high three service aces, adding 11 digs. Friday at Southeast Missouri, Hargan slammed a season-high 23 kills, the highest total in a three-set match in the OVC this season, adding 11 digs and two service aces. In the series finale Saturday, Hargan smacked 15 kills, piled up 11 digs and tied her career-high by slugging four aces.
Sennett, a junior from Normal, Ill., opened the week last Tuesday by posting 32 assists. She backed that up against Southeast Missouri over the weekend by piling up 81 assists over the six sets in Cape Girardeau. For the week she averaged 12.56 assists per set, the highest rate in the OVC on the week. She guided the Eagle offense that posted a .331 hitting efficiency over the course of their three matches in the week.
The honors are the fourth of the season for Hargan and the third for Sennett this fall. Hargan leads the OVC in kills (4.58 per set), points (5.37 per set) and her .272 hitting percentage ranks sixth in the conference.
Sennett has posted 699 assists this season. Her 9.85 assists per set average this season is the second-highest in the OVC. In conference play, Sennett is averaging 11.72 assists per set while running the Eagle offense that leads the OVC hitting .278.
Morehead State is undefeated in OVC conference play, sitting atop the conference standings at 10-0. The Eagles take to the road this weekend at Little Rock. Friday's match is scheduled for 7;00 p.m. ET. Saturday, the Eagles and the Trojans tangle at 1:00 p.m. ET. Both matches are scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN+.
