MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Double-doubles from
Josiah LeGree and
Jon Carroll, and seven Eagles scoring in double figures, highlighted Men's Basketball's 121-51 win over Kentucky Christian at Johnson Arena Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles (2-3) scored the most points in a game since also registering 121 versus Kentucky Christian on Nov. 29, 2014. LeGree had 13 points and a career-best 10 assists, while Carroll notched his second double-double as an Eagle with 14 points and 10 boards.Â
George Marshall led the Eagles with 20 points, his second 20+ effort of 2025-26, while
Chase Dawson came off the bench for a season-high 19 points and a career-best seven assists.
Clayton Parker scored a season-high 16, while
Tamaury Releford added a season standard 15.
Anouar Mellouk was the seventh Eagles over 10+ as he tossed in 12 points and nearly missed a double-double with eight rebounds.
MSU out-rebounded the Knights 45-17 and had 32 assists in the contest. The Eagles also had 19 steals and turned that into a 45-3 advantage in points off turnovers. MSU also scored 60 percent of its points in the paint with 72.
MSU opened up a 17-0 first-half lead before KCU finally scored with 14:45 left in the first half. The home team led 60-26 at halftime. The Eagles shot 70 percent (23-of-33) in the opening half, which was the highest efficiency in a half since that 2014 KCU game when that team made 75 percent in the second half.Â
The Eagles' largest lead came with 40 seconds left when they pulled ahead by 72 points. Morehead State finished with a 66 percent (48-of-73) field goal accuracy and defended the visitors into only 35 percent.
KCU, an NAIA program from 35 miles away in Grayson, Ky., had only player reach double figures in points as Parker Watts scored 12. The Knights counted the game as an exhibition contest.
MSU's stat totals reflected a plethora of rankings for bests since the 2011-12 season, including:Â

Morehead State's next action is the first of two games in an MTE event at ETSU. The Eagles face the host team on Friday at 7 p.m. ET in Johnson City, Tenn.
