MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Rifle remains at home this weekend, hosting VMI Saturday and Memphis Sunday. This will mark the final two home matches before winter break as the Eagles have hosted seven of the first eight shoulder-to-shoulder duals at Button Rifle Range.
Both matches are set to go off at 8:15 a.m. ET.
Morehead State enters the weekend holding the No. 16 spot in the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association top-20 rankings. VMI is not ranked, while Memphis comes in at No. 6. The Tigers shoot at No. 1 Kentucky Saturday.
MSU has won 20 consecutive matches shooting directly against VMI (since 2010-11).Â
The Eagles are coming off back-to-back wins over fellow Ohio Valley Conference foe UT Martin at home last weekend.
Senior
Adrianna Beard tops the Eagles in average in all three phases. She edges teammate and fellow senior
Hayden Bell by .1 of a point in Air Rifle at 591.1 and averages a team-best 581.3 in Smallbore. Her 1172.0 aggregate is best on the squad. Both Bell and sophomore
Trey Myers average 1169.0 in aggregate scoring.
The teams will utilize a slightly different timing format this weekend, whereas all the counters will be lined up in the first two relays, ensuring a final score earlier in the day.
