RESULTS
MOREHEAD, Ky. -- A team record in Smallbore highlighted another win for the Morehead State Rifle team Saturday as the Eagles topped visiting VMI at Button Rifle Range.
MSU totaled a 2,327 in Smallbore, besting the previous school record of 2,326 set last season. MSU finished with 2,357 in Air for a season-best 4,686 aggregate, while VMI was at 4,555.
In Smallbore, sophomore
Chloe Shannon led the charge with a personal record 586. Sophomore
Trey Myers helped out with a 583, which included a personal best 200 with 12 centers in prone. Sophomore
George Kuhne shot 580 (tying his standing best-ever at 194). Senior
Adrianna Beard finished off the record with a 578. Senior
Hayden Bell carded a 576 and tied his prone best at 198.
In Air Rifle, Beard topped out at 595 to lead the team. Bell fashioned a 591, while Myers shot 588. Shannon was close behind at 585. Kuhne recorded a 581.
Freshman
Hannah Goin and juniors Maria Keonig and
Cooper Gray also shot. Goin led the three with a 585 in Air Rifle and had 577 in Smallbore. She tied her prone best at 197 and standing top score at 191. Gray tied his prone high-water mark at 199, which led to him also tying his Smallbore record of 564.
MSU will host No. 6-ranked Memphis on Sunday, beginning at 8:15 a.m. ET.
