MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State Rifle finished up the home portion of the schedule Saturday as the Eagles fell to visiting Akron.
The Zips topped MSU 4706-4656.
Although she wasn't among the counters, freshman
Victoria Koenig had her best day of the season. She shot 595 in Air and 574 in Smallbore, both career highs. She also had career bests in kneeling, prone and standing Smallbore.
Among the lineup,
Trey Myers and
Chloe Shannon posted the Eagles' best Air Rifle totals as each netted a 592.
Adrianna Beard finished at 589, and
Hayden Bell was right behind at 588.
George Kuhne's 583 rounded out the five counters.
Haven Eastman also had a solid day in Air, firing 588.
Akron only topped the Eagles by seven (2368-2361) in Air.
In Smallbore, Beard topped the squad with a 580. Kuhne had 575, while Bell totaled 572. Myers and Shannon each shot 568.Â
MSU's final regular season match is in two weeks at the NCAA Qualifier at Kentucky, Feb. 22.Â
