MOREHEAD, Ky. -- A savvy veteran transferring from Louisiana-Monroe, Jacob Wilson is the newest men's basketball signee at Morehead State for the 2025-26 season.
Wilson, from Baton Rouge, La., spent three seasons with the Warhawks in his home state.
"Jacob gives us another scoring threat with great size on the wing," said Head Coach
Jonathan Mattox. "He has great versatility as a scorer and can handle the ball and make plays off the bounce. We're really excited about adding Jacob to our program."Â
Wilson averaged 6.3 points and 2.1 rebounds while hitting 40 percent from the floor in three season at ULM. He averaged 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in 2024-25 as a junior. Wilson produced double digit points 10 times last winter, including a career high 23 against Old Dominion. He had 19 career games with 10+ points.
Wilson prepped at Baton Rouge's Liberty Magnet High School. He was a First-Team All-State Class 4A selection by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association and Second-Team All-State by the Louisiana High School Basketball Coaches Association after averaging 19.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game as a senior.Â
He scored 1,875 points, grabbed 646 rebounds, dished out 469 assists and swiped 272 steals, helping the Liberty Magnet Patriots to a Division II state semifinals appearance in 2021 and a state runner-up finish in 2022.
