Morehead, Ky.-- Morehead State got off to a quick start, but a cold second half proved to be its undoing and MSU fell to Tennessee State 70-62 Thursday in the Gentry Center in Nashville.

Morehead State (9-9, 4-3 OVC) shot seven of 14 from the field in the first quarter and led 17-12 after the first ten minutes.
Marie Sepp led the Eagles in the first quarter, scoring seven points.

Tennessee State (3-13, 3-4 OVC) heated up in the second quarter, hitting four of their first five shots and got their first lead on an Aaniya Webb three-point play to go ahead 24-21. That began a 13-0 run capped by Webb's trey at 5:05 to put the Tigers ahead 31-21, their largest lead of the game. Webb scored 13 of her game-high 29 points in the quarter as TSU hit nine of 14 (64%) from the floor. TSU led 35-30 at the half.

Laura Toffali with 19 points.
Kate Dike notched her sixth double-double of the season with 10 points and set a new career high with 13 rebounds.

Morehead State responded to open the third quarter with a 10-2 run capped by
Anja Ekstrom's three at the 6:52 mark to retake the lead 40-39. Tennessee State ended the quarter with a 9-4 run and led 53-51 heading into the final period.

Tennessee State outscored MSU 17-11 in the final frame and clinched the game hitting nine of their 12 free throws in the period. The Tigers also shot 40% (4-10) in the final quarter, while holding MSU to 5-16 (31%) from the floor in the final ten minutes. The Tigers also got 13 points from Erin Martin.
