Seamus Bogan Named September's OVC Co-Golfer of the Month

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- A tied-3rd place finish and a tied-13th place finish aided Seamus Bogan's selection as Ohio Valley Conference Co-Golfer of the Month for the month of September.

"It feels great to be selected as OVC Co-Golfer of the Month," said Bogan. "I still have my goals set high for another win soon."

Bogan's first tournament of September was at the Joe Feaganes Invitational, carding a 72-68-70—210 to finish tied-13th.

Bogan and teammate Remy Stalcup led the Eagles in the second round of the tournament, finishing three under par with five birdies. He also finished one under par in the third round.

His second tournament performance was the big one, finishing tied-3rd in the SIUE Dolenc Invitational. 

Bogan carded a 68-68-69—205 (-8), marking the sixth-best tournament performance by a Morehead State golfer over the past 15 seasons based on final score and score relative to par.

He led the Eagles in all three rounds, including round three in which his driver broke before the round started, forcing him to use his 5-wood as his longest club for the entirety of the final round.

Bogan earned his fourth career top-five finish and his third career top-three finish. He tied for third in par-4 scoring average (3.89), tied for seventh in par-5 scoring average (4.42) and tied for fifth in pars (38).

"Seamus (Bogan) absolutely earned this recognition with his consistency to start the year," said Head Coach Matthew Martin. "His ability to handle adversity has grown tremendously and really showed up at SIUE. I am excited to see even more growth as we continue our journey through the season."

Bogan was named the OVC Co-Golfer of the Week following his performance, his second time receiving a golfer of the week nod in his career.

This is the second time in Bogan's career that he's been named the OVC Golfer of the Month. He was named February's OVC Golfer of the Month earlier this year following his two top-10 finishes in The Compadres Collegiate and the Savannah Intercollegiate.
