Morehead, Ky. -- The Morehead State women's basketball team has signed Nashville native Alonna Poole to play with the Eagles next season.
Â
"Alonna is an outstanding addition to our program," said MSU head coach Jackie Alexander. "I've had the privilege of building a relationship with her since recruiting her out of high school, and she has
consistently impressed me with her talent and ability. She is a dynamic athlete and natural scorer who will make an immediate impact on our team."
Â
Poole comes to Morehead State after playing at James Madison. She appeared in 12 games in her freshman season (2024-25) and took a redshirt year this season.
Â
Poole earned all-district and all-region honors as a junior at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She averaged 15.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the floor and 83% from the free throw line.
Â
"At Morehead State, everywhere I turned there was someone willing to help and support me, and that meant a lot," said Poole. "Building a relationship with Coach Jackie made my decision even clearer. I knew it was a great fit and I felt truly welcomed."
