Morehead, Ky. -- The Morehead State baseball team swings back into Ohio Valley Conference play as it travels to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to take on Southeast Missouri at Capaha Field. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET. The game is scheduled to be aired on ESPN+.

Morehead State rolls into the Show-Me State on a five-game winning streak after its 10-2 win over Ohio Tuesday night at Allen Field in Prefontaine Park. The Eagles pounded out 15 hits in the game, the fifth consecutive game MSU has tallied double figures in hits. Led by freshman starter
Cole Wells, who threw four-plus innings, Eagle pitching allowed just five hits and four walks while striking out eight Bobcats.

Southeast Missouri took a 6-5 decision over Southern Illinois Tuesday in Carbondale, Ill. The Redhawk offense pounded out 10 hits, including a home run and three doubles. SEMO pitching allowed six hits and five runs, all unearned.

Morehead State has an overall record of 47-57 against Southeast Missouri. The teams first met on April 25, 1992 in Cape Girardeau. The Eagles won the game 3-0 but lost the series 2-1. The last time the two programs met was April 26-27, 2025 at Allen Field at Prefontaine Park. SEMO came away with a series sweep of the Eagles.

- Morehead State tops the OVC in hits (357), runs (269) and home runs (53). The Eagles are second in the conference with a team batting average of .313.
- MSU rapped out 15 hits in its 10-2 win over Ohio Tuesday, the fifth straight game the Eagle offense has totaled a double-digit hit count.
- On the season, Morehead State pitchers have walked 172 batters, averaging 5.4 free passes per game, the most in the OVC. In the Eagles' last five games MSU has walked 14 batters total, an average of 2.8 walks per game.
- Morehead State pitching has hit 67 batters this season, the most in the OVC and tied for 11th most in Division I.
- Aubrey Kearns leads the OVC and ranks 14th in Division I hitting .419. His 54 hits also lead the OVC and ranks 6th in the country. He has hit safely in 28 of the Eagles' 32 games played.

- McCubbin hit 14-25 (.560) in the Eagles' last five games. He smacked three home runs, a double and a triple with 11 RBI. McCubbin is second on the team hitting .366, which ranks fourth in the OVC. He comes into weekend on a six-game hitting streak.
- Kyle Krupp has hit safely in nine of the last 10 games. His .352 batting average ranks 10th in the league. He has hit .477 (21-44) with RISP.
- Krupp has stolen 19 bases in 26 attempts, ranking second in the OVC.
- Griffin Olson has hit safely in four of the last five games; in all four he notched multiple hits. In that span he raised his average 71 points to .347., fourth on the club.
- Olson is 14-17 in stolen bases, ranking 6th in the league.
- Alex Kean is riding a 20-game reached base streak, the longest current streak on the team. His 24 walks are the most drawn by a batter in the OVC so far this season.
- Nick Griffith comes into the weekend on a six-game hitting streak, raising his average 61 points to .327. He had a big day last Saturday in the UT Martin series finale, going 4-4 at the plate with two doubles, an RBI and three runs scored.
- Jaden Correa and Kearns lead MSU with 37 runs batted in, ranking third in the OVC.
- Correa is also tied for the team lead with nine home runs with catcher Caden Sheridan.
- Correa comes into the weekend hitting .500 (16-32) with RISP.
- Friday's projected starter Callum McGill got his first win last Thursday against UT Martin, in first extended start in his first extended start of the season. He allowed six hits and five runs in five innings pitched. He walked two and struck out two.
- Kamden Hawks is projected to start on Saturday. Last Friday, he picked up his second win of the season going five innings and giving up four runs on six hits in Morehead State's notoriously tough ballpark. He walked just one batters and recorded four strikeouts.
- Hawks is averaging 7.96 strikeouts per nine innings pitched. He is tied with Landon Waugh for the team lead with 28 K's.
- Sunday starter Connor Davis sparkled last Saturday in the series finale with UT Martin, picking up his third win of the season. Pitching into the sixth inning, he scattered four hits, allowing two runs (both on solo homers). He walked one and struck out one Skyhawk batter.
- Davis is averaging 1.90 WHIP.
- Devon Costa earned his third save of the season last Thursday against UT Martin. He pitched four innings, allowing six hits and three runs. He threw 49 pitches, 39 of which were strikes.
- Costa has a 6.50 strikeout to walk ratio, leading the team. He is averaging 4.68 strikeouts per nine innings.
