MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State Athletics has renewed its partnership with FanWord, the leading AI technology and storytelling company in college sports.
Morehead State's communications staff primarily uses FanWord Assist, the premier AI-powered storytelling platform in college sports, to transform interviews and other information into compelling long-form content.
One example is the department's "In My Own Words" series, which goes beyond the numbers and statistics to spotlight the people behind Morehead State Athletics. Through powerful, human-interest features, the series gives student-athletes, coaches, and alumni an opportunity to share their experiences, journeys, and perspectives in greater depth.
"When we started with FanWord, the goal was to give our student-athletes, staff, coaches and alums a platform to tell their own stories," said Matt Schabert, Director of Athletic Media Relations. "And that is exactly what we have been able to do. With a smaller staff and everything else we have to get done in a day, features are usually the first thing that gets pushed aside. This partnership has let us keep writing them. Credit to our student assistant Ethan Kleier, who took on the responsibility of utilizing FanWord and has done a superb job of keeping up the features."
The Eagles are part of a network of more than 250 athletic departments and organizations using FanWord to build a more consistent content strategy, alongside schools like Southeast Missouri State, Little Rock, Austin Peay, and Lipscomb.
"Morehead State came to us wanting to do long-form storytelling, and then went out and did it, story after story," said Chris Aumueller, CEO of FanWord. "Matt and his staff have done a phenomenal job and we couldn't be more grateful for the partnership."
In a landscape where athlete branding, NIL, alumni engagement and recruitment are more storytelling-driven than ever, the renewal keeps Morehead State positioned to keep pace — and stand out — in the digital era.
