Jeff Stanek

Jeff Stanek, who has coaching experience at Division I Winthrop and Duquesne, is in his second season as an assistant coach at Morehead State.

He will serve as the recruiting coordinator at MSU, as well as the outfield and baserunning instructor and hitting assistant.

Stanek has worked with new MSU Head Coach Mike McGuire the previous three seasons, including a record-setting 2012 season at Louisburg College. He also worked alongside McGuire for two seasons at Winthrop.

He helped guide Louisburg to a school-record 52 victories in 2012, spearheading the team's hitting philosophies while also serving as outfield and baserunning coordinator.

Stanek served as volunteer assistant coach at Winthrop in 2010 and 2011 and also served one summer as a full-time assistant coach. He was in charge of Winthrop's outfield and baserunning.

Priot to his stint at Winthrop, he was the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach at Southeastern (Iowa) Community College in 2008 and 2009. He helped lead the team to 76 wins in his two campaigns, and his hitters ranked in the top 30 nationally in batting average both seasons. The 2009 team set a school-record for wins and ranked in the NJCAA top 10.

Stanek began his coaching career at his alma mater, Duquesne. He served as volunteer assistant in 2007 before being elevated to an assistant coach.

He has coached 11 players who signed professional contracts, including seven who are active in the minor or independent leagues. He played collegiately at Duquesne.

Stanek is married to the former Amanda Kokemuller.
