Biography

2009: Named Second Team All-OVC … Tabbed as OVC Pitcher of the Week on May 18th after allowing zero runs in 4.2 innings of relief work in 2 appearances at Southeast Missouri State … CoSIDA Academic All-District IV and CoSIDA Academic All-American … Started all 52 games and made 20 appearances on the mound, once being called upon as the starter … Finished the year with an era of 4.15, which was tops on the team … Batted .350 with 61 RBIs and 8 home runs … RBI total was second highest on the club … Batted 7-for-9 with 2 RBIs during a doubleheader against Valparaiso … Drove in 13 runs on nine hits in 18 plate appearances during a four game set versus Long Island … Went 3-for-5 with five RBIs during a game against Shawnee State … Tallied four RBIs against Tennessee Tech on April 4 … Pitched 7.2 innings of relief ball allowing just two runs on three hits versus Marshall … Also had a season high of 10 strikeouts against the Thundering Herd … Made eight relief appearances that lasted more than three innings … Allowed zero runs over three innings in a game at Jacksonville State.

2007: Pitched in 16 games with five starts as a freshman … Recorded a double in two official at-bats … One of 15 Baseball Eagles to be named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll … Made the NACF World Series all-tournament team while playing in Louisville’s Derby City League.

PRIOR TO MSU: An outstanding multi- sport standout at Mercer County High School … A four- year varsity starter in baseball, he had 27 career pitching wins and a .460 career batting average … Struck out only 15 times in 535 career at bats in high school … Played in the Kentucky East-West All-Star Game as both a junior and senior … Also played football and basketball all four years of high school … Was valedictorian of his senior class with a 4.0 grade point average.
