AS A REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2020)
(Shortened season) ... Appeared in the Eagles' matchup against Louisville on March 3 ... Registered a single as a pinch hitter in that contest in his first career at-bat ... Had a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the year ... Played for the Mandan (N.D.) Flickertails in the Northwoods League in the summer of 2020 .. Named to the 2019-20 OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

AS A FRESHMAN (2019)
Did not play in any games and took a redshirt season .. Named to the 2018-19 OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll. 

PRIOR TO MSU
Was rated the top third baseman, and overall 27th best player in Minnesota by Perfect Game… In addition, Matousek earned Rawlings Central Region All-American Honorable Mention honors…  Earned All-Tournament honors at the 2017 Perfect Game West MLK Championship, batting .444 with a .944 OPS… Played for Eden Prairie High School and helped pace the Eden Prairie American Legion team to a Division I top-five finish (350+ teams)… At the 2018 state tournament, hit .320 with a .928 OPS…As a junior with NorthStar Baseball Club, hit .447 with 18 RBI…  Was a two sport letterman at Eden Prairie where in addition to baseball, played fullback for Mike Grant’s 2017 6A State runner-up football team.
