Stacy Latnie

Stacy Latnie is in his second season as assistant coach at Morehead State.

In his first season in 2018 on the track, he helped athletes tie school records in the 60-meter dash and post top three school-record times in the 400-meter dash.

He was an all-conference athlete at Clarke (Iowa), earning indoor accolades in the 4x800 relay and distance medleys in 2014. He was also named Academic All-Conference in 2012-13.

Latnie was a volunteer assistant at Clarke following his graduation. He helped the women's 4x800 relay team to the NAIA national championship meet. The men’s distance medley relay also won a conference indoor championship, and the men’s team also had an 800-meter outdoor championship and the half-marathon conference championship.

Latnie also volunteered at Southern Illinois, where he helped guide Brandon Shemonia and Oscar Medina to all-conference honors.

He coached at Chicago State, where he coached record-holders in the 6K and 8K races for the men and coached a women's 1,500-meter school record holder.

He is a graduate of Crete Monee High School in Illinois.

Latnie is a USATF Level 2 Endurance Specialist, USATF Level 2 Sprint/Hurdle/Relay Specialist and is Strength and Conditioning certified.

He received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and physical education the spring of 2015 from Clarke and is currently pursuing a master’s degree from the University of Illinois-Springfield.
