Nikki Davis

Nikki Davis, who won two high school state championships and played four years of Division I women's basketball, is in her first season as an assistant coach at Morehead State.

Davis, who became the first player in Kentucky history to play in four consecutive state championship games, recorded 1,263 points, 802 assists and 530 steals at Lexington Catholic High School from 2003-06.  She led the Knights to a 71-2 record (.973) and back-to-back state titles in 2005 and 2006.

Lexington Catholic was ranked sixth in the final USA Today Super 25 poll Davis' junior year and third her senior campaign.  She was also a First-Team All-State selection her final prep season.

Davis averaged 5.1 points while playing in all 30 games at Alabama in 2006-07.  She tied the Crimson Tide freshman record with 11 assists in a game that season.

She then played three seasons at Virginia Tech, after sitting out the 2007-08 campaign as a Division I transfer.  She averaged 7.5 points as a sophomore, 6.4 points as a junior and 6.4 points as a senior while seeing action in 80 career games for the Hokies.

She led Virginia Tech in assists as a junior and senior, while ranking first in steals her final season.  Davis also earned the athletic department's strength & conditioning award in 2009 and 2011.

Davis has served as a girls basketball camp counselor at Alabama, Virginia Tech, Louisville, Kentucky and Transylvania over the past six years.
