Tara Arnold is in her second season with the Morehead State women's basketball team and her first as Director of Operations. She served as graduate assistant in 2016-17.
In her first season at Morehead State, Arnold helped guide the Eagles to a 21-10 (11-5 Ohio Valley Conference) record under head coach Greg Todd. The Eagles reached the 20-win plateau for the seventh time in school history, resulting in the program's first ever appearance in the Women's National Invitation Tournament. 2016-17 also featured a nine-game winning streak – the second-longest in school history – and the team's first invitation to a national postseason tournament since 2009-10.
Arnold played basketball at Western Kentucky from 2009-10 before transferring to Morehead State. She spent 2011 through 2013 with the Eagles before transferring to Lindsey Wilson (NAIA) due to injury. At Lindsey Wilson, she finished her career averaging 10 points and 5.2 rebounds, while shooting 71 percent from the line, 44 percent from the floor, and 40 percent from three-point range.
She graduated from LW in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in communications and made Academic All-Mid South Conference honors. She received her masters at WKU in Sport Management with a concentration in media and branding, while working for the IMG Sports Network radio/television as the WKU women's basketball play-by-play commentator.
A native of Frankfort, Ky., she graduated from Western Hills High School in 2009. During her senior year, she led the Lady Wolverines with 16.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
