NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Morehead State volleyball team needed less than an hour-and-a-half Tuesday night to defeat host Tennessee State 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-22). The Eagles improved to 6-1 in the OVC and 13-5 overall, while the Tigers fell to 2-15 and 1-5 within the league.

Freshman Ellie Roberson led the Eagles in kills for the second straight match, landing a match best 11 on a .308 hitting percentage. Kaitlin Craven had 10 kills, and junior setter Kirstie Brangers had another double-double with 29 assists and a team high 12 digs.

On defense, the Eagles were again tough at the net. Freshman Annie Gruenschlaeger totaled six blocks, while redshirt sophomore Emma Keough tallied five.

TSU was topped by Vicmari Prospero with nine kills.

The Eagles did not neccesarily light it up in terms of hitting, compiling just a .159 percentage, but the Eagles held TSU to only a .088 effort and came up with 11 team blocks and eight service aces.

Morehead State returns home this weekend to face UT Martin on Friday at 7 p.m. and Murray State Saturday at 2 p.m.
