Men's Basketball Adds International Standout Jason Beharie

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Jason Beharie, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound power forward from London, England, has joined the Morehead State men's basketball program. Head coach Donnie Tyndall announced this week that Beharie has completed his financial aid agreement and has completed enrollment requirements to the university. He joins the Eagles after two seasons at the Canarias Basketball Academy (CBA) in Spain's Canary Islands.

"Jason is a very skilled player that can play both frontline positions. He runs the floor well and will be a good shot blocker," said Tyndall. "Jason has played for a very good coach in Rob Orellana at CBA who has pushed him hard so he will understand the work that is required at this level. Not only is Jason a talented young man on the basketball floor, he is a very good student as well. We are excited to add Jason to our basketball family."

Beharie averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game at CBA.

"I have been impressed with Coach Tyndall. He is very straight forward and direct which I like. He seems to be the type of coach who will push me to reach my potential and help me develop both on and off the court," said Beharie. "I'm very excited to be coming to Morehead State and hope to help the team any way I can."

The Canarias Basketball Academy has produced numerous NCAA Division I and NBA players and is located in Gran Canaria, Canary Islands - Spain.
