ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Morehead State's volleyball team gave both seventh-ranked Michigan and Missouri tough matches Friday, but in the end the Eagles were on the short end. MSU dropped a 3-1 (15-25, 25-23, 19-25, 8-25) decision to Missouri and fell 3-0 (22-25, 16-25, 22-25) to the host Wolverines at the Michigan/Pepsi Challenge Friday afternoon at Cliff Kean Arena.
Against Missouri, junior outside hitter
Kaitlin Craven led the Eagles with a 12-kill, 16-dig double-double. Junior middle blocker
Holly Evans led the squad in hitting at .368 and added nine kills. Sophomore
Liz Schuler came up with a career high 10 digs, and senior libero
Kristina Schoo tied for team honors with 16 digs.

Kirstie Brangers handed out 30 assists and also collected a career high five block assists.
The Eagles had 14 block assists, but Missouri forced MSU to a season low .075 attack percentage. The Eagles had 26 attack errors and seven service errors against the Tigers from the Big 12 Conference.
Juliana Klein topped MU's effort wuith 16 kills and 10 digs.
After falling 25-15 in the opening set, the Eagles found themselves nearing a set two loss also, trailing 23-21. But, a kill by red shirt sophomore

Ellie Roberson and Keough, and a set-clinching ace by freshman
Aryn Bohannon sealed a 25-23 set two win for MSU.
The Eagles could not keep up the momentum however. MSU committed 15 attack errors in the final two sets, and the Tigers took advantage, hitting .308 in set four to win 25-8.
The Eagles battled the nationally-ranked Michigan Wolverines tight in every set. MSU came up with 12 block assists and had 12 kills off a .310 hitting percentage to set the tone in the first set. However, Michigan was nearly unblemished in the opening set. The Wolverines smashed 20 kills and hit .500.
After a 25-16 setback in the second frame, MSU battled tough again in the third set, falling only 25-22.
Craven topped the Eagles with nine kills, while Roberson had seven spikes. Freshman
Annie Gruenschlaeger totaled a team best four blocks.
Michigan, which hit .293 for the match, was led by a 16-kill night from Juliana Paz and 11 spikes from Veronica Bond. The Wolverines out-dug the Eagles 41-31.
MSU plays Fairfield and 10 a.m. Saturday and VCU at 5 p.m.
