MOREHEAD, Ky.—Morehead State freshman kicker Rainer Duzan was named Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week Sunday the league announced Sunday afternoon.
Duzan booted the game-winning field goal in the second overtime Saturday to lift MSU over North Carolina Central 13-10. It was Morehead’s first road win in overtime and Duzan’s first game-winning field goal.
Duzan had also hit a 27-yarder in the fourth quarter. He missed his first chance to win the game in the first overtime from 38 yards out, but composed himself for the game-winner on MSU’s next possession.

Matt Ballard after the game. “He is a special young man, and for a freshman to come into such a pressure situation and keep his composure tells me his is going to have special career here. “
The kick moved Morehead to 2-1. The Eagles open PFL play against Butler at Jayne Stadium Saturday at 1 p.m.
