Men's Golf Places 10th at Wasioto Winds

PINEVILLE, Ky.—Morehead State men’s golf finished in 10th place at the Morehead State Fall Kick-Off Invitational, which concluded Tuesday at the Par 72, 6,820-yard Wasioto Winds Golf Course at Pine Mountain State Resort Park.

The Eagles shot a 910 (301-304-305) in the three round, 54-hole tournament. Murray State won the event with an 845, 40 strokes better than the next closest team and 19 strokes under par.

MSU’s Dean Schneider carded a 219 (71-73-75) to lead the Eagles and finish ninth overall. Alex Misback tied for 12th overall, just four strokes behind Schneider, with a 223 (77-75-71). Misback’s third round score was MSU’s equaled the lowest scored by a MSU player. Schneider also shot a 71 in the first round.

Sam Zirnheld finished at 230 (74-78-78) to tie for 40th overall and Michael Pinsonneault, playing in his first tournament as an Eagle, finished tied for 56th place with a 238 (79-78-81). The Eagles' were playing with just four players after Tommy Carrico was forced to withdraw halfway through the opening round due to medical reasons.

The Eagles also have five players competing as individuals. Matt Logan topped the Eagle solo payers with a 224 (81-70-73) to tie for 20th overall. Alex Wright tied for 35th overall with a 228 (77-75-76) and Jared Flanery placed tied for 48th overall with a 223 (78-75-80). Dylan Ramsey placed 55th overall with a 237 (79-75-83). Ian Danis rounded out MSU's contingent with a 238 (81-84-73) to tie Michael Pinsonneault at 56th overall.
