SIMPSONVILLE, Ky.—The Morehead State women’s golf team is in 10th place after two rounds of the Napa River Grill Cardinal Cupp, which began Monday at Cardinal Club Golf Course. The Eagles shot a 626 (314-312) in the first 36 holes.
Freshman
Marisa Kamelgarn leads the Eagles with a 147 (76-71) to tie for eighth place overall. Kamelgarn had the MSU low round of the day with a 71 in round two, courtesy of four birdies during the round.
Senior
Darlene Bognot is in second place for MSU and tied for 40th overall with a 157 (80-77). Sophomore
Emma Jonsson is tied for 56th overall and is third for the Eagles with a 160 (78-82). Junior
Lynn Grunkemeyer and
Paige Lausier rounded out the scoring for Morehead State. Grunkemeyer had a 164 (82-82) to tie for 69th and Lausier had a 165 (80-85).
The Eagles also had two players competing as individuals. Sophomore
Emma Eksell is tied for 20th overall with a 151 (76-75) and
Karolina Tunstig shot a 164 (82-82) to tie Grunkemeyer at 69th overall.
Host Louisville leads the event with a 575 (289-286). Eastern Kentucky is the other OVC school at the event. The Colonels are in 12th with a 633 (321-312).
The tournament will conclude Tuesday with an 8:15 shotgun start to a single, 18-hole round. Scores will be available live through Golfstat's
