MOREHEAD, Ky. -
The Morehead State women's basketball team suffered its first conference loss last Saturday at Jacksonville State, but the Eagles are still in first place and they can rebound from the setback starting Thursday night when Southeast Missouri visits Johnson Arena for a 5:15 p.m. tipoff.

The Eagles stand at 12-6 and 5-1 in the OVC, tied for first place with 5-1 Eastern Kentucky. Junior Chynna Bozeman has led the conference in scoring all season and sits at 17.7 points per game, while senior Tiffany Hamilton has perhaps been MSU's most consistent athlete. She scores 12.5 points per game and has reached double figures in 14 of the last 15 games. She has also been lethal from three-point range, shooting almost 70 percent in the last four games.

The Redhawks are 5-9 in 2009-10 and 2-3 in the OVC. Head coach John Ishee has had to shuffle his lineup lately however as top scorer Jasmine Davis (10.0 ppg) was lost for the season. Third leading scorer and senior Lauren Sharpe is also slated to miss Thursday's game with injuries. That leaves the remaining players only averaging 38 points per game. And that is just about what SEMO scored in it last game, a 67-39 defeat at Eastern Illinois Saturday.

MSU trails 24-9 in the all time series, but the Eagles swept the Redhawks for the first time ever last year. Included in that was MSU's second-ever win in Cape Girardeau and a 55-54 win here in Johnson Arena where then-freshman guard Courtney Lumpkin drilled a game winning 15-foot jump shot as time expired.

After Thursday's game, MSU hosts red-hot Eastern Illinois on Saturday at 2 p.m.
