Morehead, Ky. -- Swedish national Anja Ekstrom has signed to join the Morehead State women's basketball team for the 2025-26 season, transferring from North Florida.
The native of Spanga, Sweeden, appeared in 15 games at North Florida last season, averaging 6.7 minutes per game. "I am thrilled to welcome Anja to our program," said Morehead State head coach Ashton Feldhaus. "She is a knock-down shooter who brings versatility and the ability to play multiple positions."
"Anja's skill set allows us to stretch the floor offensively while giving us valuable flexibility on the defensive end," said Feldhaus. Ekstrom set a season-high with 20 points in North Florida's season opener against Trinity Baptist last November.
Ekstrom began her collegiate career at Western Wyoming Community College in the 2023-24 season. She averaged 10.5 points and 4.3 assists per game.
"Her game and character fit seamlessly into the program we are building, and we're excited about the impact she'll have on our team," said Feldhaus.
