MSU Cross Country Teams Back in Action at Greater Louisville Classic

Greater Louisville Classic Information

LOUISVILLE, Ky.
-  After a few weeks off, the MSU men's and women's cross country squads will get back to work on Saturday in one of biggest cross country races on the national circuit, the Greater Louisville Classic.

The Classic, which is hosted by the University of Louisville, will be held at Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. The participating schools will be divided up into one of three groups, gold, blue, or silver, and will run with their respected group.

Looking to once again build on earlier season success, the classic will not only provide a big stage for the Eagles to perform on, but also be a good indicator of how they match up against other schools as they get closer to Pre-Nationals, and the OVC Championship.

This is the ninth year Louisville has hosted the classic, and once again, it is the South's largest cross country meet, hosting 97 colleges and universities from all over the United States. Thirteen nationally ranked programs will be among the participants, including the host University of Louisville (currently ranked #7 in the Southeast Region), and perennial NCAA D-II power Colorado School of Mines, (currently ranked #3 in the NCAA D-II National Coaches Poll).

The Classic will start promptly at 9:00 a.m.
