Final Results
MURRAY, Ky. - Sam Zirnheld finished tied for fifth individually, and the Morehead State men's golf team improved another spot Tuesday to finish fifth out of 12 teams at the Murray State Fall Invitational, played at the par 71, 6,601-yard Miller Memorial Golf Course.
Zirnheld earned all-tournament status with a final round 72. He concluded the event with a 72-73-72-217. As a team, the Eagles improved every round, finishing with a three-round score of 302-297-296-895.
Michael Brown finished tied for 23rd overall, fashioning a 75-71-78-224.
Alex Misback was 30th with a 80-76-71-227, while
Dean Schneider finished all alone in 41st. Schneider shot a 76-77-79-232.
Dylan Ramsey rounded out MSU's team lineup with a 79-81-75-235.
Matt Logan, playing as an individual, carded a 76-77-77-230 for 36th place.
Murray State led from wire-to-wire in winning its own event with a three-round score of 860. Belmont was second, followed by UT Martin. The Eagles finished six strokes ahead of fellow OVC school Tennessee Tech.
Coach Rex Chaney's squad will next be in action at the Cincinnati Fall Invitational on Oct. 10-11.
