Eagle Softball Helps Habitat For Humanity

MOREHEAD, Ky. - In this season of receiving and giving gifts, the Morehead State softball team gave a generous gift to Habitat For Humanity this past weeked - their time and talent.

MSU softball team members, along with the coaching staff, worked at the Polk Lane Habitat build site in Lexington on Saturday all day. The team worked on two different houses and handled a variety of different jobs.

"My girls worked extremely hard Saturday giving back to the community and helping those in need. The sport of softball has treated me very well, and I love giving back when I can. I think that's important to teach my girls. They were all very excited about this opportunity and worked all day to make tremendous improvements to the houses which were nothing but shells before we got there," said coach Holly Bruder. "I'm very proud of them and this is something they can always look back and smile about."

The team primed and painted walls and ceilings. They also cleaned both houses, including mopping, cleaning the debris from the yards, making the electricity in the house more energy efficient, and fixing up the garages.
