Men's Tennis Silences Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana with a 5-2 victory

MOREHEAD, Ky. –
Morehead State’s men’s tennis squad moved to 3-2 after defeating the University of Southern Indiana 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the Wellness Center Indoor Courts.

Morehead State won at numbers two and three against USI to take a 1-0 lead in the match. Doubles pair Lovell Medcalf and Bradley Bryan defeated the USI pair of Ben Boesing and Juan Quiroz 8-4. The Eagles Duo of Nathan Martin and Nathan Blum then went on to win against Robert Neiters and Nathan Lattimer 8-6.

In the number one match MSU’s Greg Anderson and Dusan Milovanovic were defeated by USI’s pair of Joe Boesing and Diego Gimenez 8-6.

In singles action, Anderson started off strong with a victory over Gimenez 7-5, 4-6, 6-4.

At number two Bryan was defeated 7-6(4), 7-6(5) by Quiroz in two tough tie-break sets, at number three Jerry Sundgren handed J. Boesing a defeat 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(3).

Milovanovic won in strong fashion with straight sets over Ben Roeser 6-1, 6-0 at number four and at number five Martin won against Ben Boesing 7-5, 4-6, 10-5. Blum lost against Neiters 6-2, 3-6, 8-10 at number six.

The Eagles will be in action again at home against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Feb 27.
