MOREHEAD, Ky. – The Morehead State men’s tennis team put together an impressive performance this afternoon, as they defeated the Bobcats of West Virginia Wesleyan 7-0. The Eagles have now won three straight and improved their record to 5-2.

The Eagles took an early lead in the match 1-0 after sweeping through the doubles matches. At number one MSU’s duo of
Greg Anderson and
Jerry Sundgren edged the Bobcat’s pair of Marc Rosner and Rafael Cavalcante 8-7 (6).
Bradley Bryan and
Lovell Medcalf beat Alvaro Ochoa and Doug Hornak 8-4 in the number two spot. At number three the Bobcat’s duo of Dennis Cole and Rob Hilton came up well short of the Eagle team of
Nathan Blum and
Nathan Martin 8-3.
Singles action started off with a great match between Anderson and Rosner, the match went to the third set where Anderson was able catch stride and win 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. In the number two spot Bryan bested Ochoa 7-5, 6-3 to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead in the match.
Sundgren was matched against Cavalcante at the number three spot, and came out victorious 6-4, 6-4. Nathan Martin at number four took care of business defeating Danilo Fanciscon 6-0, 6-2.
At the number five
Dusan Milovanovic beat Javier Yim Kim 6-0, 6-2, and in the sixth spot
Chris Shafik won 8-3 over Eduard Gusevs.
The Eagles will be on the road for there next two matches this coming weekend. On March 5 the Eagles will be at Southern Illinois University and on March 6, MSU will take on Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.
