Men's Tennis Tops Union, 5-2

MOREHEAD, Ky. -
The Morehead State men's tennis team lost the doubles point to Union College Monday afternoon, but the Eagles rallied to win five of the six singles matches against the nationally-ranked NAIA team and take the victory, 5-2, at the Wellness Center Indoor Courts.

Union, which was coming off a 4-3 upset at NCAA Division I Western Illinois, won at numbers one and two doubles to claim a 1-0 lead in the match. At number three, the MSU duo of Nathan Martin and Nathan Blum knocked off Kyle Schilling/Lucas Oliveira 8-3.

In singles action, Greg Anderson fell to Nicolas Ernst 6-4, 4-6, 4-6 on court one, but all five of the other Eagles in the lineup won.

At number two, senior captain Dusan Milovanovic handed Bartos Micher a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 defeat. On court three, Bradley Bryan won 6-3, 6-2 over Pierre Vernin, and Jerry Sundgren recorded a 6-4, 6-2 decision against Alvaro Vargas at number four.

In the fifth spot, Martin captured a 6-2, 6-2 voctory versus Schilling, and Blum breezed past Oliveira 6-2, 6-0 at number six.

The Eagles travel to Cincinnati on Friday, Feb. 12 to face Xavier University at 7 p.m.
