ORLANDO, Fla. -- Morehead State cheer can add another national championship to the trophy case.
The four-person team of Mallory Mingus, Ashley Benjamin, Krista Sanders and Izzy Glinski won the 2011 UCA All-Girl Group National Championship Friday evening at Walt Disney World.
"These four young ladies did things that no other all-girl group has done in the history of all-girl cheerleading," said MSU cheer coach Bill Mayo. "They set a standard for all-girl cheer. I've never been more proud, privileged or honored to be a part of this program. What these girls accomplished tonight will never be forgotten."
The all-girl stunt title was the 28th national championship for Morehead State cheer as the 2003 all-girl stunt team also won a title. Both the full all-girl squad and the Co-Ed team will compete for the team titles Saturday.
