MOREHEAD, Ky. —
Junior setter Caitlin Clark recorded 25 assists and a career-high 19 digs to lead Morehead State to a 3-0 victory (25-10, 25-18, 25-17) over SIU Edwardsville on Saturday afternoon at Wetherby Gym. The win, coupled with UT Martin's loss at Southeast Missouri, assured MSU of at least a share of the 2011 Ohio Valley Conference regular season championship.

The Eagles improve to 19-6  overall and 14-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The OVC title is MSU's 10th in school history and the second straight after winning the outright title in 2010. The Cougars fall to 10-18 on the season and 5-11 in conference play. MSU has now won 31 of its last 33 regular-season conference matches.

Redshirt senior middle blocker Emma Keough, who tallied nine kills and hit .500, led the Morehead State offense. Redshirt sophomore outside hitter Aryn Bohannon added a match-high 11 kills for the Eagles.

Morehead State registered a 10-4 advantage in team blocks, which led to a .242 to .029 upper hand in attack percentage. The Eagles also added nine service aces in the win.

The Eagles controlled the match from start to finish as there were no lead changes this afternoon. The first set remained close until Keough served eight unanswered points to make it 18-6. The Eagles ended up closing out the set on an 18-5 spurt to win by 15 points.

The second set stayed tight until Clark served six unanswered points to make it 15-7. The third set was back and forth until the Eagles used a 10-3 run to take control. MSU reeled off four straight points to close off the set and win the match.

Sophomore libero Leslie Schellhaas contributed 15 digs to help MSU post a 57-37 advantage in that category.

The Eagles, who continue to sit atop the OVC standings, return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Eastern Kentucky for a 7 p.m. ET match. An Eagle win would clinch the league regular season title outright and give MSU the reward of hosting the OVC tournament for the second consecutive season. That event takes place on Nov. 17-19.
