MOREHEAD, Ky. - Morehead State fans have just one more chance to see senior Chynna Bozeman in action at Johnson Arena when the Eagles host Southeast Missouri Saturday night at 5:07 p.m.
The game is sponsored by St. Claire Regional Medical Center and is also the Think Pink game. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to support breast cancer awareness. The game will also air live on Wazoo Sports and be available on ESPN3.com.
Bozeman and the Eagles will be looking to get back on track after back-to-back losses to Tennessee Tech and Eastern Illinois. The setbacks have dropped MSU into third place behind Tech and UT Martin. Bozeman needs just one more point to reach 2,000 for her career.
SEMO enters the game at 8-15 overall and 4-9 in the OVC. A half-court based offensive team, the Redhawks prefer to slow it down as they score only 53 points per game. Opponents, however, generate just 64 per game against SEMO and shoot only 38 percent. Katie Norman leads SEMO with 9.4 points per outing. The Redhawks upended Eastern Kentucky Thursday, 64-57.
Morehead State has already clinched a spot in the OVC Tournament, its fifth consecutive OVC postseason berth. And in fact, the standings are so that right now MSU can finish no worse than fifth place. But, the Eagles won’t be satisfied with fifth. The top four teams receive byes in the tournament with seeds three and four earning one bye. The top two seeds earn two byes straight into the semifinals. The OVC Tournament will take place in Nashville, Tenn., at Municipal Auditorium March 2-5.
Next week, the Eagles will be traveling to face Eastern Kentucky in Richmond on Saturday, Feb. 19. Tipoff time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EST.
