CHARLESTON, S.C.--Morehead State softball won its second game of the season, a 6-5 decision over Towson, at College of Charleston's Cougar Classic Saturday night.
Towson had the game-tying and go ahead runs on base in the seventh after already plating a two-out run that brought them to within one. But Ashley Imperial had other plans and closed out the game with a called strikeout to give the Eagles the win.

Imperial (2-2) earned the win for the Eagles, throwing a complete game, allowing five runs on eight hits, three of which were earned. Dominique Oretega took the loss for Towson, surrendering three runs on four hits in four innings of relief work.
In a back-and-forth contest each team scored once in the first inning. The Eagles took a 3-1 lead in the third on Stephanie Etter's RBI single and Butler's run-producing two-bagger. But, the Tigers answered with three in the bottom of the inning to go back on top 4-3.
MSU came right back though with another two-spot on the board in the fourth and one in the sixth to stake itself to a 6-4 lead. Courtney Rhodus scored on an infield fielding error first in the fourth and then Woodall and Ashbrook completed a double steal as Woodall stole home for the Eagles' fifth run.
