Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight OVC Team Academic Award

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- For the fourth consecutive season, the Morehead State volleyball team is the recipient of the Ohio Valley Conference's volleyball Team Academic Award. The Eagles had 10 student-athletes named to the OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll.

The OVC team academic awards are presented annually in each Conference-sponsored sport to the member institution's team with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes who achieved a 3.25 grade point average or higher. MSU volleyball's team GPA was a remarkable 3.7.

"This is a great honor for our team to be recognized once again as the OVC Team Academic Award winner," said coach Jaime Gordon. "We have always put a strong emphasis on academics because we feel our players can excel not only on the court but in the classroom. This reflects the hard work they put in all year and the hard work that Valerie Ousley and the academic center staff put in to ensure our players are fully prepared to do well in class."

Morehead State volleyball student-athletes who achieved the required GPA were: Aryn Bohannon, Kirstie Brangers, Kaitlin Craven, Holly Evans, Annie Gruenschlaeger, Emma Keough, Laura McDermott, Lindsey Roth, Leslie Schellhaas and Liz Schuler. Bohannon, Evans, Keough and Schuler each have posted a perfect 4.0 GPA to be awarded the OVC's highest academic honor, the Medal of Honor.
