SIMPSONVILLE, Ky. -- The Morehead State men’s golf team finished 15th in this year’s Cardinal Intercollegiate at the Cardinal Club Golf Course. The Eagles carded a 295 on Monday and 309 on Tuesday for a two-round total of 604.
Arkansas-Little Rock (283-290--573) won the 18-team event, while Northern Illinois (287-294--581) placed second and Wisconsin (294-288--582) finished third.
Junior Jared Flanery (T-15th, 72-73--145) was Morehead State’s top finisher.
Senior Dean Schneider (T-37th, 74-76--150), junior Sam Zirnheld (T-62nd, 76-78--154), sophomore Tommy Carrico (T-65th, 73-82--155) and senior Crit Reddick (T-90th, 79-84--163) also competed for the Eagles.
UALR junior Nicklaus Benton fired a 67-70--137 to take home medalist honors.
Morehead State returns to the links Oct. 3-4 when it travels to the Murray State Invitational.
