MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State men’s basketball team (9-10, 3-3) returns to action on Wednesday when it hosts #10/12 Murray State (18-0, 6-0) in an Ohio Valley Conference tilt at 7 p.m. ET.

The game will be webcast live on ESPN3.com.  It will also be broadcast on the Eagle Sports Network, which includes four affiliates in Eastern Kentucky and MSUEagles.com.

Murray State, which is currently #10 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll and #12 in the Associated Press poll, is the league’s first nationally-ranked team since the 1997-98 season.

Murray State will be the first nationally-ranked men’s basketball team to ever play at Johnson Arena, which opened on Dec. 3, 1981.  The last top 25 team to play in Morehead was #9 Western Kentucky on Feb. 20, 1971.

Morehead State has won its last three home games -- Ball State, Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky.  The Eagles are 57-9 (.864) at Johnson Arena over the past five years.

The 18-game winning streak is Murray State’s longest in school history.  The Racers and Syracuse (19-0) are the only teams still undefeated at the Division I level.

Morehead State is led by senior Ty Proffitt (9.8 ppg), junior Kahlil Owens (5.3 rpg) and senior Lamont Austin (2.9 apg).  Sophomore Drew Kelly posted a career-high 26 points on 12-of-16 at the free-throw line in Saturday’s win over Eastern Kentucky.

Murray State is paced by junior Isaiah Canaan (18.5 ppg, 4.1 apg) and senior Ivan Aska (6.0 rpg).  Senior Donte Poole tallied a game-best 28 points on 9-of-9 from the charity stripe in Saturday’s victory over Tennessee Tech.

Donnie Tyndall is in his sixth season as the head coach at Morehead State (105-80, .568) and his seventh year in charge of a college basketball program (135-85, .614).

Steve Prohm is in his first season as the head coach at Murray State (18-0, 1.000) after spending the previous five years as an assistant coach for the Racers.

Murray State owns a 104-47 advantage in the all-time series against Morehead State.  The teams split a pair of meetings in 2010-11, with both teams winning at home.

Kenneth Faried, who was taken by the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft, averaged 18.0 points and 11.5 rebounds in two games vs. the Racers last year.
