NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Senior middle blocker Annie Gruenschlaeger had a season-high 20 kills as the Morehead State volleyball team earned its 20th straight victory in a 3-1 road win over Belmont on Saturday.
The Eagles improve to 22-6 overall and 14-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference with the win. MSU currently holds the longest winning streak in Division I, and the victory was also its 23rd straight in OVC road matches. The Eagles had already clinched a share of their third straight OVC title Friday night, but Saturday's win, coupled with Southeast Missouri's loss at Austin Peay, secured the title outright for Morehead State.
Gruenschlaeger’s kill total was a match-high, and senior right side hitter Ellie Roberson added 19 of her own and a .450 efficiency. Senior setter Caitlin Clark had 52 assists.
Senior libero Leslie Schellhaas paced Morehead State with a match-high 23 digs, and sophomore setter Colbey Cameron added 17.
The Eagles hit .283 as a team, while holding BU to .150, and had eight service aces.
Three Bruins finished with double-digit kills in the match, and junior setter Hannah Miranda had 41 assists.
The Eagles will host in-state rival Eastern Kentucky on Wednesday for their final home regular-season contest. First serve is at 7 p.m. ET. Follow live stats live video at www.MSUEagles.com.
