MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State men’s basketball team (13-12, 6-5) plays its only home contest in a 17-day stretch on Wednesday when Ohio Valley Conference opponent Jacksonville State (10-16, 5-7) visits Johnson Arena at 7 p.m. ET.
The game will be webcast live on OVCSportstv. It will also be broadcast on the Eagle Sports Network, which includes four affiliates in Eastern Kentucky and MSUEagles.com.
Morehead State has won four of its past five games, with victories over UT Martin, Norfolk State, Tennessee Tech and Eastern Illinois.
Jacksonville State has won four of its past six contests, with victories over Tennessee Tech, Eastern Illinois, SIU Edwardsville and UT Martin.
Morehead State is led by senior Ty Proffitt (10.0 ppg, .389 3FG%), junior Kahlil Owens (4.9 rpg), senior Lamont Austin (2.9 apg, 1.5 spg), junior Milton Chavis (.532 FG%) and junior Marsell Holden (.920 FT%).
Proffitt, Chavis and sophomore Drew Kelly shared team-high honors with 11 points each in Saturday’s win over Eastern Illinois.
Jacksonville State is led by sophomore Brian Williams (13.1 ppg, 3.4 apg, 1.4 spg, .358 3FG%), sophomore Nick Cook (4.3 rpg), junior Ronnie Boggs (.541 FG%) and junior Tarvin Gaines (.800 FT%).
Gaines paced the Gamecocks with 19 points on Saturday against Tennessee Tech, while Williams added 18.
Donnie Tyndall is in his sixth season as the head coach at Morehead State (109-82, .571) and his seventh year in charge of a college basketball program (139-87, .615).
James Green is in his fourth season as the head coach at Jacksonville State (37-77, .325) and his 15th year in charge of a college basketball program (204-237, .463).
Morehead State owns a six-game winning streak against Jacksonville State and has won 15 of 21 games in the all-time series.
Kelly poured in a game-high 20 points in MSU’s 63-55 victory over JSU on Jan. 5 at Pete Mathews Coliseum, while Owens pulled down a game-best 11 rebounds.
