Schneider Ties Season Best in Final Round of TSU's Tourney

OLD HICKORY, Tenn.
-- Senior Dean Schneider matched his season best by firing a 70 in the final round of the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Hermitage Golf Course.  His three-round total of 216 was good for a share of 14th out of 63 golfers.

The Eagles carded a 293 to finish seventh out of 10 teams.  Ohio Valley Conference member Murray State posted a 280 over the final 18 holes to win the tournament.

MSU sophomore Michael Pinsonneault registered a 75 in the final round en route to a 220.  Junior Jared Flanery tallied a 72 which led to a 223, while classmate Sam Zirnheld managed a 76 which contributed to a 228.  Junior Matt Logan, playing as an individual, turned in a 71 which led to a 224.

Murray State junior Patrick Newcomb fired a five-under-par 67 in the third round en route to a 209 for the two-day event.  A total of seven sub-70 rounds were posted on Tuesday.

The Hermitage Golf Course plays at a yardage of 6,822.
