DICKSON, Tenn. -- The Morehead State men’s golf team closed out the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Championship on Saturday with a 295 to finish seventh out of nine squads.
The Eagles wrapped up the three-round affair with an 889. MSU tallied a 302 in the opening round on Thursday at GreyStone Golf Course and a 292 in the second round on Friday.
Junior Sam Zirnheld, junior Crit Reddick and senior Dean Schneider all posted 73s on the tournament’s final day. Zirnheld was MSU’s top finisher with a 218 and tie for 13th place.
Junior Jared Flanery carded a 76 on Saturday, while sophomore Michael Pinsonneault fired a 79.
Jacksonville State (861) won the 54-hole event, while Austin Peay (862) and Murray State (866) round out the top three. APSU sophomore Anthony Bradley (210) claimed medalist honors.
The golf course was played at a par 72 and yardage of 6,858.
