NASHVILLE
-- Morehead State Head Men's Coach Sean Woods and Head Women's Coach Tom Hodges took part in the annual Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Media Day on Tuesday at a Sheraton Hotel just east of the Music City.

The league announced its preseason poll and all-conference teams, OVC Commissioner Beth DeBauche addressed the crowd of over 100 and all coaches took part in various interview sessions.

The Morehead State men return eight players, including seniors Bakari Turner (8.2 ppg), Chad Posthumus (7.5 ppg, 6.8 rpg) and Drew Kelly (7.1 ppg). Junior Angelo Warner (10.9 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 2.5 apg) is the team's top returning scorer.

The MSU men have been picked third in the OVC's East Division, behind Eastern Kentucky and Belmont. The Eagles are coming off a season where they finished 15-18 overall, 8-8 in league play and advanced to the OVC quarterfinals.

"This event reminds everyone that basketball season is just around the corner," Woods said. "We're excited about the team we have this year. We have a roster filled with talented young men, and we're working on getting the chemistry down now."

The Morehead State women return seven players, including Preseason All-OVC selections Terrice Robinson (17.5 ppg) and Almesha Jones (11.1 ppg). The Eagles return all five primary starters from a year ago, plus another who made 11 starts.

The MSU women are predicted to finish fourth in the OVC's East Division, behind Tennessee Tech, Belmont and Eastern Kentucky. The Eagles are coming off a campaign where they finished 9-21 overall and 5-11 in conference action.

"Basketball season is quickly approaching," Hodges added. "I like the new players and coaches we've added to the program. We have five returning starters, but we also have several newcomers who are competing for minutes right now."

Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and MSU Director of Athletics Brian Hutchinson were also in attendance. The coaches, administrators and media members were reminded about the OVC serving as host of the 2014 NCAA Women's Final Four.

Morehead State will host its annual basketball preview event, Morehead Hysteria, on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET. The women begin exhibition play on Nov. 1 at 5:15 p.m., while the men open their exhibition slate the next night at 7 p.m.
